Cannabis and Epilepsy

February 12 is International Epilepsy Day, an opportunity to raise awareness of epilepsy, what it is, how it can be treated, and what is needed to bring treatment to all people who need it.
Epilepsy is one of those few conditions where Cannabis has shown scientifically validated clinical effects. Here I have summarized what we know so far about how Cannabis can help with treatment-refractory epilepsy. While the pre-clinical, animal and human data we have so far is promising, more studies are definitely needed to assess the full impact of cannabis in this condition, and perhaps to present it as first-line treatment
